OPENING NIGHT FILM

April 30 at 7:00 PM
Writers Guild Theater
135 S Doheny Drive, Beverly Hills 90211

The Japanese Dog - 85 min - Romania - Director: Tudor Cristian Jurgiu
An old widower—played by the Romanian acting legend Victor Rebengiuc in a bravura performance—is coping with the aftermath of the recent floods that devastated an entire village. A visit from his estranged son with a young Japanese family in tow stir deep-seated emotions on both sides. The encounter, filmed with great subtlety on a backdrop of spectacular visuals, transforms one solitary life in a powerfully wrapped conclusion.

Legacy Award for actor George Chakiris
Lifetime Achievement Award for actor Victor Rebengiuc
