2015, Bloodvine Media, 82 min, USA, Dir: Garin Hovannisian, Alec Mouhibian
To mark the 100th anniversary of the 1915 Armenian Genocide, a director (Simon Abkarian) stages a play at the Los Angeles Theatre to honor the victims of that horrifying crime, which was forgotten and denied for a century. But as protesters surround his theater, and a series of mysterious incidents spread panic among his actors, we realize that Simon’s mission is more controversial than we think - and the ghosts of the past are everywhere. With Angela Sarafyan, Sam Page, Nikolai Kinski and Jim Piddock. Featuring an original score by Serj Tankian from System of a Down.
Discussion following with directors Garin Hovannisian and Alec Mouhibian.
1915 will open in US theatres starting Friday, April 17, 2015 for one-week engagement.
Laemmle's Music Hall in Beverly Hills, Playhouse 7 in Pasadena, and Town Center 5 in Encino.
