Submissions to the 91st Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film

Balarus announced today that Crystal Swan (Хруста́ль) will be their submission to the 91st Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. The film premiered yesterday at Karlovy Vary Film Festival. This is their 3rd submission since the 90's.

Last year, a record number of 92 films were submitted to the Academy. Stay tuned for more submissions for this year as they get announced.

The deadline for submissions is early October 2018. The Academy is scheduled to announce a list of eligible submissions in late October from which nine finalists will be shortlisted in December 2018. The final five nominees will be announced on January 22, 2019. The winner will be announced on February 24, 2019 at the Oscar ceremony held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
