The film takes us on a journey from her difficult childhood as an Italian in Egypt during WWII all the way to the summits of stardom and through her final moments. It will give Dalida fans an unprecedented opportunity to witness some of the most important moments of the life and career of one of the most modern, liberated, and talented women of the 20th century. To squeeze the events of Dalida’s life into a 2-hour screenplay, filmmaker Lisa Azuelos worked closely with writer Jacques Pessis, and Dalida’s brother and manager Orlando who with novelist Catherine Rihoit, penned a biography of his beloved sister in 2009.

The 20th Annual Awards Ceremony will be held at the LOEWS HOLLYWOOD HOTEL. The following are the Special Honorees:
- Career Achievement Award recipient: Oscar-winning screenwriter ALEXANDER DINELARIS
- Lifetime Achievement Award recipient: Actor CARL WEATHERS
- Lifetime Legacy Award recipient: Grammy award-winning musician, singer, and songwriter CHRIS CORNELL (in memoriam)
- Festival’s prestigious Armin T. Wegner Humanitarian Award will be presented to Oscar-winning screenwriter and director TERRY GEORGE
